Victoria Christina Hesketh, better known by her stage name Little Boots, is an English electropop singer-songwriter and DJ. She was previously a member of the band Dead Disco. Her debut album, Hands, was released in 2009 and reached number five on the UK Albums Chart. Hesketh was born in Blackpool, Lancashire. She attended St Mary's Catholic High School, where she studied music and drama. She then attended the University of Leeds, where she studied English literature. After graduating, Hesketh formed the band Dead Disco with two friends. The band released two singles, "City Place" and "You're So Cool", but they were not commercially successful and the band disbanded in 2006. Hesketh then began a solo career, using the stage name Little Boots. She released her debut single, "Stuck on Repeat", in 2008, which reached number two on the UK Singles Chart. Her debut album, Hands, was released in 2009 and reached number five on the UK Albums Chart. In 2010, Hesketh was nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Female Solo Artist. She has released two more albums, Nocturnes (2013) and Working Girl (2015). Hesketh has also worked as a DJ and has remixed tracks for other artists, including Katy Perry, La Roux, and Ellie Goulding.
