BIOGRAPHY
Laurent Voulzy is a French singer and songwriter born on December 18, 1953 in Paris. He is a founding member of the Franco-American pop-rock duo Les Chocolate Watchband.
Laurent Voulzy began his music career in the 1970s as a member of the pop-rock Franco-American group Les Chocolate Watchband. The group had some success in France and Europe, especially with their single "I Want Candy".
After the dissolution of the group, Voulzy continued his career as a solo artist, releasing his first self-titled album in 1977. He went on to release several albums in the 1980s and 1990s, some of which were very popular in France. Some of his biggest hits include the singles "Le Pouvoir des Fleurs" and "Le Soleil Donne".
Voulzy has also composed several songs for other artists, including singers Françoise Hardy and Mylène Farmer.
In 2001, Voulzy reunited with the Chocolate Watchband with a new line-up, and they released an album titled "The Chocolate Watchband Reunion". In 2006, he released a new solo album, "La Septième Vague".
Voulzy is considered one of the greatest French singers and songwriters of his generation. His songs are known for their melancholic melodies and poetic lyrics.
