BIOGRAPHY
Maria Vidal is an American singer born in 1963. She is best known for her hit "Body Rock", which reached number one on the charts in 1984.
Vidal grew up in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. She began her musical career playing in rock clubs in Hollywood in the 1980s. In 1984, she signed with EMI America and released her first single, "Body Rock", which became a global hit, reaching number one in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
She released two studio albums, Maria Vidal (1985) and Something's Gotta Give (1987), before leaving the music industry in the late 1980s. She returned to music in 2006 with the album Come Alive.
Currently, Vidal resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.
