BIOGRAPHY
The B-52s are an American new wave band created in Athens, Georgia in 1976. The original lineup included Fred Schneider (vocals, keyboard), Kate Pierson (vocals, keyboard), Cindy Wilson (vocals, tambourine), Ricky Wilson (guitar), and Keith Strickland (drums, guitar). Ricky Wilson passed away from cancer in 1985, causing Strickland to switch to drums. The band has also included additional members for tours and live performances.
The B-52s have put out eight studio albums and have won numerous awards. They are most famous for their songs "Rock Lobster", "Love Shack", and "Private Idaho".
