BIOGRAPHY

Luther Barnes Jr., better known by his stage name LBJ, is an American rapper and record producer from Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his work with the hip-hop group N.W.A and his solo album Straight Outta Compton. Born on January 27, 1959, LBJ grew up in Los Angeles, California. He began his music industry career as a member of the hip-hop group N.W.A. In 1988, he released his debut solo album, Straight Outta Compton, which was a critical and commercial success. The album included the hit single "Straight Outta Compton," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. In the early 1990s, LBJ began working with producer Dr. Dre on the album The Chronic. The album was a commercial and critical success, and won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. In 1995, LBJ released his second solo album, Efil4zaggin. The album was another critical and commercial success, and included the hit singles "California Love" and "Gin and Juice." In the late 1990s, LBJ began working on the album 2001. The album was released in 1999 and was a critical and commercial success. The album included the hit singles "Forgot About Dre" and "The Next Episode." In 2000, LBJ founded the record label Aftermath Entertainment. The label has released albums by artists such as Eminem, 50 Cent, and Kendrick Lamar.
