BIOGRAPHY

The Click was a French-American house music duo, composed of American singer Kayo Shekoni and French producer Olivier Poirier-Defoy. The duo was best known for their 1997 hit single, "Tonight is the Night." Shekoni was born in Brooklyn, New York, and Poirier-Defoy was born in Paris, France. The two met in the early 1990s when Shekoni was living in Paris and working as a model. Poirier-Defoy was working as a DJ at the time, and the two began collaborating on music. In 1996, the duo released their first single, "Tonight is the Night," which became a hit in several countries. The success of the song led to the release of the duo's first album, Tonight is the Night, in 1997. The album was a moderate success, reaching the top 40 in France and the top 20 in Belgium. The duo released two more singles from the album, "Don't Go" and "You Belong to Me," but neither were as successful as "Tonight is the Night." In 1998, the duo released their second album, All Night Long. The album was not as successful as their first, and the duo decided to part ways shortly after its release. Shekoni went on to pursue a solo career, releasing her first album, New York Girl, in 2001. Poirier-Defoy also went on to pursue a solo career, releasing his first album, Paris, in 2003.
