BIOGRAPHY
Loreen is a Swedish singer born on October 16, 1983, in Stockholm, Sweden. She is famous for representing Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan, with her song "Euphoria," which she won with 372 points. She is thus the third Swedish to win the Eurovision, after ABBA in 1974 and Herreys in 1984. Loreen was also nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2013.
Originally from Västerås, Loreen attended the music and theater high school. She then studied music at Stockholm University and worked as a singer and musician in various theatrical and musical productions. In 2011, she participated in the first season of the Swedish Idol show, finishing 4th place.
In May 2012, Loreen represented Sweden at Eurovision with her song "Euphoria," winning the contest with 372 points. "Euphoria" became an international success, reaching number one in 18 countries and the top 10 in seven others. In Sweden, the song was certified gold and was nominated for the Swedish Grammy Award for Song of the Year. In 2013, Loreen released her second album, "Heal," which was certified gold in Sweden and reached the top 10 in charts in Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland.
