BIOGRAPHY
Modjo was a French electronic music duo that achieved great success in the late 90s and early 2000s. It was composed of Romain Tranchart, a conservatory-trained musician who handled the instrumental and production side, and Yann Destagnol, who primarily handled the DJing and technical aspects. They are widely recognized for their worldwide hit "Lady (Hear Me Tonight)", which topped the charts in many countries and was one of the most successful songs of 2000.
Their musical style is often described as French house, with influences from disco and funk. Despite their success, the group only released one self-titled album and stopped releasing music under the name Modjo in 2002. Romain and Yann continued to work in the music industry after the dissolution of the group, but Modjo remains their most well-known project.
Their work with this group left a mark on an era and continues to be played on radios worldwide, serving as a benchmark for many electronic music enthusiasts and professionals. Their single album is still considered a classic of the genre.
