Geboren in Montreal, Canada, in 1968, is Vice opgegroeid met elektronische muziek van jongs af aan. Fascineerd door de klanken en dansbare rhythmes van techno-muziek, begon hij in de jaren 1990 zijn eigen nummers te produceren. Over de jaren is zijn muziek geëvolueerd, van pure en harde techno naar een experimentelere en avant-gardistische benadering. Vice heeft ook veel verschillende muziekgenres verkend, van hip-hop tot klassieke muziek. Behalve zijn solocarrière, heeft hij samengewerkt met veel artiesten en groepen, zoals de DJ/producers Richie Hawtin en John Acquaviva, de Canadese rapper K-os, en de virtuoze violist Joshua Bell. Vice is ook bekend om zijn energieke en fascinerende live-optredens, waarbij muziek, video en beeldende kunst worden gecombineerd.
