BIOGRAPHY
Jim Diamond was born on September 28, 1951, in Glasgow, and is a Scottish pop and rock singer. He is best known for his hit "I Should Have Known Better," released in 1984, which was a big success in France and Belgium.
Jim Diamond began his career as a singer and guitarist in the folk-rock band Humblebums with Gerry Rafferty in 1971. The band split up in 1974, and Jim Diamond embarked on a solo career. His first album, "One Day at a Time," recorded in 1981, was a commercial failure, and he found himself without a label. He then moved to London and became the singer and guitarist in the band Matt Bianco, with whom he recorded two albums, "Whose Side Are You On?" (1984) and "Indigo" (1986).
In 1984, Jim Diamond recorded his second solo album, "Say Something". The single "I Should Have Known Better", taken from the album, was a big hit in France and Belgium, reaching number one on the charts. He then recorded two more solo albums, "Primitive" (1986) and "Downtown" (1989), before taking a break from the music scene for several years.
