Jimmy Cliff is a Jamaican musical artist, singer, songwriter, actor, and music producer. He is considered one of the most important figures of reggae and rocksteady. He has contributed to the popularization of various Jamaican music genres such as ska, rocksteady, and reggae, and has greatly contributed to their international spread. Among his most famous songs are "The Harder They Come", "You Can Get It If You Really Want", and "Many Rivers to Cross". In recognition of his talent and contribution to music, Jimmy Cliff was named Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2012.
