BIOGRAPHY
"OMD is a British new wave and synth-pop band, originating from Wirral, England. Formed in 1978 by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, the group achieved international success in the 1980s with singles such as "Enola Gay", "Messages", and "Locomotion".
Although the group disbanded in 1996, they resumed their career in 2006. McCluskey and Humphreys have been the only constant members of the group, who were joined by Malcolm Holmes from 1979 and Martin Cooper from 1980. The group's first album, "Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark", was released in 1980, followed by "Organisation" (1980), "Architecture & Morality" (1981), and "Dazzle Ships" (1983).
OMD experienced their greatest commercial success with "Junk Culture" (1984) which reached the Top 5 in the UK. The group's subsequent albums, "Crush" (1985) and "The Pacific Age" (1986), were also commercial successes, contributing to the group's popularity among a wider American audience."
