BIOGRAPHY

Philippe Swan is a French singer and musician born on June 18, 1952, in Paris. He was a member of the band Les Charlots from 1968 to 1974 and then pursued a solo career. He has sold more than 10 million records worldwide. Swan grew up in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. His father was a journalist and his mother, a painter. Swan attended the Janson-de-Sailly high school before studying law. In 1968, he joined the band Les Charlots as a singer and guitarist. The band achieved international success with songs like "Les Bricoleurs" and "Fais pas ci, fais pas ça". Swan left Les Charlots in 1974 to embark on a solo career. Swan released several albums that were moderately successful in France, including "Un jour comme aujourd'hui" (1976), "Les filles de mon âge" (1977) and "J'aime les filles" (1978). He also appeared in several musicals, such as "Les Dix Commandements" (1985) and "Notre-Dame de Paris" (1998). In 2000, he formed the band Philippe Swan et les Crocodiles, with whom he recorded two albums. Philippe Swan is now considered one of the most popular French singers, having sold more than 10 million records worldwide and received numerous awards, including the Grand Prix de la chanson française in 1977 and the Victoire de la musique in 2000.
