The Whispers is an American music group formed in 1964. The group consists of five members: Scott Mills, Marcus Hutson, Wallace Scott, Nicholas Caldwell, and Gordy Harmon. The group had limited commercial success in the United States, but they had a significant impact in Europe, especially in Germany, where they topped the charts with their song "And the Beat Goes On" in 1985. The group also hit number one in the UK with their song "It's a Love Thing" in 1988.
