BIOGRAPHY
Wild Cherry is an American music band that gained international success with their song "Play That Funky Music". The band was formed in 1970 in Cleveland, Ohio, and consisted of Rob Parissi (singer and guitarist), Mark Prentice (bassist) and Ron Beitle (drummer). Their first album, simply titled "Wild Cherry", was released in 1976 and reached the third spot on the Billboard 200. Their most famous song, "Play That Funky Music", was also released in 1976 and reached the first place on the Billboard Hot 100. The group released two more albums, "Electrified Funk" (1977) and "I Love My Music" (1978), before disbanding in 1979.
