George Michael was a British singer, songwriter, and music producer born on June 25, 1963, in London. He began his musical career as a member of the pop duo Wham! before pursuing a solo career from 1987. George Michael sold over 100 million albums worldwide and won numerous awards, including three Grammy Awards, four Brit Awards, and two American Music Awards. He was ranked as the 40th highest-selling male artist of all time by Billboard magazine. Openly gay, George Michael was a passionate advocate for gay rights and donated millions of pounds to charitable causes. He passed away on December 25, 2016, at the age of 53, at his home in London.
