BIOGRAPHY
CamelPhat is a British electronic music duo consisting of producers Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala. They are best known for their song "Cola", which reached third place in the UK Singles Chart in 2017.
Whelan and Di Scala are both born and raised in Liverpool. They met in the city's nightclub scene in the early 2000s, with Whelan working as a DJ and Di Scala promoting club nights. They began making music together in 2006.
The duo's first release was "The Fix", which was included on Di Scala's Fabriclive.37 CD mix. They gained greater recognition in 2008 with the release of their track "Let the Bass Kick", which was featured on the Ministry of Sound Clubber's Guide to... Ibiza compilation album.
In 2010, CamelPhat released their first EP, The CamelPhat EP, on the label Crosstown Rebels. The EP included the track "Rabbit Hole", which was later used in a television advertisement for the British mobile network Three.
CamelPhat's breakthrough came in 2017 with the release of their single "Cola". The track was featured on their second EP, Galvanize, and reached third place in the UK Singles Chart. It was also number one in several other countries, including Australia, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
In 2019, CamelPhat won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for "Cola".
