Willie Campbell (born October 25, 1958) is a Scottish singer-songwriter and musician. He is best known for his work with the band The Blue Nile. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Campbell began playing guitar at the age of eight. He attended the Glasgow School of Art, where he studied painting and sculpture. After graduating, he worked as a graphic designer and illustrator. He also played in various bands, including The Blue Nile. The Blue Nile released their first album, A Walk Across the Rooftops, in 1984. The album was a critical and commercial success, and established Campbell as a talented songwriter and musician. The band went on to release two more albums, Hats (1989) and Peace at Last (1996), before taking a break. In 2003, Campbell released his first solo album, titled Souvenir. The album was a critical and commercial success, and earned Campbell an Album of the Year award in Scotland. He has since released two more albums, The Water of Life (2006) and The Wheelhouse (2009). Campbell is a talented singer-songwriter, guitarist, and singer. He is best known for his work with the band The Blue Nile. He has released three solo albums and won an Album of the Year award in Scotland.
