Dez Milito (born October 3, 1977) is an American singer, songwriter, and music producer. He is best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the rock band The Gaslight Anthem.
Milito was born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey. He began playing guitar at the age of 15. He attended Rutgers University, where he studied English and philosophy. After his studies, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. He played in various bands before forming The Gaslight Anthem in 2006. The band released their first album, Sink or Swim, in 2007. The album was critically acclaimed and led to the band's signing with Mercury Records.
The Gaslight Anthem released their second album, The '59 Sound, in 2008. The album was a commercial and critical success, reaching the eighth spot on the Billboard 200. The band's third album, American Slang, was released in 2010. The album debuted at the sixth spot on the Billboard 200.
The Gaslight Anthem went on hiatus in 2015, and Milito released his first solo album, The Dream, in 2016.
Milito is married to actress Julianne Hough.
