Major Lazer is an American musical group formed in 2009 by Diplo and Switch. Their first album, Guns Don't Kill People... Lazers Do, was released in 2009. They subsequently released two studio albums, Free the Universe in 2013 and Peace Is the Mission in 2015. Their music is primarily influenced by reggae, dub, dancehall, and hip-hop. They have also been influenced by electronic music and house. They have collaborated with numerous artists, including Vybz Kartel, Sean Paul, Busy Signal, The Flexican, and FS Green.
