BIOGRAPHY
Mauro Farinelli is an Italian music artist born in 1966. He studied classical music at the Venice Conservatory and furthered his musical education in Germany and France. In 1991, he founded the Venice-based Ensemble Intercontemporain, a contemporary music group that has significantly contributed to the promotion of this genre in Italy. Farinelli is also a pioneer of electroacoustic music in his country. In 1998, he established the Venice Institute of Electroacoustic Music, the first research and teaching center of its kind in Italy. As a prolific composer, his works have been presented at numerous contemporary music festivals in Italy and abroad.
