LP, whose real name is Laura Pergolizzi, is an American singer-songwriter born on March 18, 1981 in Long Island, New York. She began her music career in 2001, but it was in 2014 that she truly gained recognition with her song "Into the Wild". In addition to her solo career, she has written songs for other artists such as Rihanna, Cher, Backstreet Boys, and Christina Aguilera.
Known for her unique voice and androgynous style, she released her debut album, "Heart-Shaped Scar", in 2001 under the Koch Records label. Later, in 2004, she signed with Island Def Jam, but after numerous disagreements, she decided to leave the company in 2006.
In 2010, she joined the SoBe Entertainment label and began making a name for herself by writing songs for major artists. In 2012, she released an EP, "Into the Wild: Live at EastWest Studios", which caught the attention of the music press.
In 2014, LP signed with Warner Bros and released the album "Forever for Now". Her single "Lost on You" became a huge success in Europe and Russia, reaching the top of the charts in several countries. Since then, she has released several other albums, including "Lost on You" (2016) and "Heart to Mouth" (2018), all of which have achieved international success.
