BIOGRAPHY
Everything started in 1999, in Belgium.
Rick Restanques alias DJ Funky Rickstarr and Michel Bellens alias Iane Robbertson together created an instrumental track they called "Right on Time" by Syndicate Of L.A.W.
They asked MC Shurakano to add vocals to it.
The idea was to create a speech about the transition to the year 2000 (the new millennium).
The acapella "Holy Digit Kountdown" was born.
These vocals were recorded in Brussels in a small studio on August 11, 1999, the day of the total solar eclipse.
The maxi vinyl: Syndicate of LAW "Right on Time" quickly became a global club hit.
The acapella was also sampled by DJ PIERRE (US, Nite Groove), with whom he created the track "Switch 2011".
In 2003, Syndicate Of L.A.W. released a "ragga" version of "Right on Time" and achieved rankings in the European and Canadian TOP 50.
Other tracks followed: "@ccelerator", "You're the One for Me feat D-TRAIN", "Sunshine", "Citizen Of The Planet feat YA KID K", "Early in the Morning", "Strange Love", "THE ALBUM - Are You Ready?", ...
In 2013: Nicky Romero mixed the famous "Kountdown" in his set at the WMC Ultra Main Stage.
More than 10 years after the solar eclipse, DJ Hardwell, the No. 1 DJ in the DJ Mag Top 100, partnered with MAK J, used the acapella in their track "Countdown" on the Revealed label.
In 2015, Syndicate of L.A.W. returned on Warner Music France / Play On with an exclusive adaptation of "Right on Time", renamed "Got it Like That" revisited by Greg B with a "ragga" by Cecile (Jamaican artist).
