Tatana Kucharova, born on March 11, 1976 in Prague, is a Czech singer, songwriter, and music producer. Tatana began her musical career in 1995 as the lead singer of the Czech pop-rock group Elan. With Elan, she released five albums and participated in numerous tours in Europe and North America. In 2003, Tatana left Elan to focus on her solo career. Her debut solo album, My Turn, was released in 2004 and was a success in the Czech Republic. The album was certified gold and won two Anděl awards, the most prestigious music awards in the Czech Republic. In 2006, Tatana released her second album, Free, which was certified platinum in the Czech Republic. In 2007, Tatana was named Woman of the Year by the Czech magazine Elle. In 2009, she released her third album, No Limits, which was certified gold in the Czech Republic. In 2010, Tatana was again named Woman of the Year by the Czech Elle magazine. In 2012, she released her fourth album, True, which was certified platinum in the Czech Republic. In 2014, Tatana released her fifth album, Stronger, which was certified gold in the Czech Republic. In 2016, she released her sixth album, Beautiful Lies, which was certified platinum in the Czech Republic. Tatana is a very popular artist in the Czech Republic and has a solid fanbase in Slovakia, Poland, and Germany. Her songs have been translated into several languages, including English, German, Polish, and Slovak. Active in her community, Tatana has participated in numerous campaigns to raise awareness for important causes, such as the fight against cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and domestic violence.
