BIOGRAPHY

Henry Blank is a French music artist. He was born in France in 1892 and grew up in Switzerland. Blank studied music at the University of Lausanne before continuing his studies in Germany and Italy. In 1912, he joined the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, where he played for two years. In 1914, Blank was mobilized in the Swiss army and served as a musician in the army orchestra. After the war, he returned to the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, where he played until 1921. In 1922, he was appointed as the conductor of the Geneva Opera, where he conducted numerous productions, including the premieres of several operas by Richard Strauss. In 1932, Blank was appointed as the musical director of the Monte-Carlo Opera, where he conducted many productions, including the premieres of several operas by Giacomo Puccini. In 1936, he was appointed as the director of the Paris Opera, where he conducted many productions, including the premieres of several operas by Claude Debussy. Blank was appointed as a Commander of the Legion of Honour in 1937. He died in Paris in 1944.
