Bette Midler is an American singer, actress, and producer born on December 1, 1945, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Midler began her career in New York cabaret clubs in the 1960s and gained mainstream recognition with her 1974 album "The Divine Miss M." She has appeared in several films, including "The Rose" (1979), "Ruthless People" (1986), "Hocus Pocus" (1993), and "The First Wives Club" (1996), and has won three Grammy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and was nominated for the Best Actress Oscar for her role in "The Rose."
Midler is one of the most popular and respected female artists of her generation, and has been honored by numerous organizations, including the Kennedy Center Honors in 2014.
