"Big Country is a Scottish rock band formed in 1981 by Stuart Adamson and Bruce Watson, who had both left the band Skids. Their debut album, The Crossing, was released in 1982 and reached number one in the UK. It was certified double platinum and was named Album of the Year at the Brit Awards. Their second album, Steeltown, was released in 1984 and also reached number one in the UK, achieving Platinum certification. Their third album, The Seer, was released in 1986 and reached number two in the UK, receiving double platinum certification. Their fourth album, Peace in Our Time, was released in 1988 and reached number two in the UK, with Platinum certification. Their fifth album, No Place Like Home, was released in 1991 and also reached number two in the UK, obtaining Platinum certification. Their sixth album, The Buffalo Skinners, was released in 1993 and reached number two in the UK, receiving Gold certification. Finally, their seventh album, Why the Long Face, was released in 1995 and reached number two in the UK, obtaining Gold certification."
