Carol Douglas is an American singer, songwriter, and producer born on October 13, 1943, in New York. She is best known for her disco hit "Doctor's Order," which reached the 6th spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1975.
Douglas grew up in the Bronx and began her career in New York's jazz clubs in the 1960s. She subsequently recorded several jazz albums for the Cadet Records label before signing with the disco label Midland International in 1974. Her first single for the label, "Doctor's Order," became a global hit, reaching the 6th spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. She then released the album "Carol Douglas," which reached the 2nd spot on the Billboard 2
