David Christie, born on June 18, 1947 in Paris, is a French singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known for his hits "Saddle Up" and "I Love to Love (But My Baby Loves to Dance)".
Born in Paris to an English mother and a French father, Christie began his musical career in the 1960s, playing in various bands before forming the band Christie in 1968. The band experienced several successes in France, including "Yellow River" and "San Bernadino". They disbanded in 1974 and Christie embarked on a solo career.
Christie's greatest success came in 1977 with "Saddle Up", which reached number one in several European countries. He followed up with "I Love to Love (But My Baby Loves to Dance)", which was also successful, becoming a hit in Europe and the United States. Christie continued to release music throughout his career and also produced records for other artists, such as Céline Dion and Johnny Hallyday.
