BIOGRAPHY
Eddy Grant is a singer, guitarist, and songwriter of reggae, rock, and pop, hailing from Guyana. He is most known for his hit "Electric Avenue", which reached second place on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1983. Grant began his musical career in the 1960s by playing in various rock and ska bands, including The Equals, before embarking on a solo career in the 1970s. He then achieved commercial success with albums such as Killer on the Rampage (1982) and Can't Get Enough (1984). In the 1990s, he turned to producing and composing music for film and television. Grant is also known for his political and social activism, particularly in advocating for the decolonization of his native country, Guyana.
