Elton John

Elton John, born on March 25, 1947 in Pinner (Middlesex, England), is a British singer-songwriter, pianist, and music producer. He rose to prominence in the 1970s with worldwide hits such as Your Song, Crocodile Rock, Candle in the Wind, Bennie and the Jets, and Rocket Man. He has been collaborating with lyricist Bernie Taupin since 1967 and with his former bassist Dee Murray and drummer Nigel Olsson since 1970. He has sold over 300 million records, making him one of the all-time best-selling male artists. In 1992, he was knighted by the Order of the British Empire for his contribution to popular music. In 2013, he was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire. In 2018, he received the prestigious Legion of Honour Medal.

Throughout his career, he has popularized several musical genres, including rock, pop, and disco. His songs often address themes of love, peace, tolerance, and diversity. His eccentric fashion style and exuberant stage performances have made him a flamboyant and unique artist. He was voted "Artist of the Decade" by Rolling Stone magazine in 1990 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. In 2004, he was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to music.
