BIOGRAPHY
Fra Lippo Lippi was a Norwegian musical group formed in 1981, named after a 15th-century Italian friar and painter. The band's original lineup consisted of brothers Rune and Ingvar Nordal (vocals, guitars), Per Øystein Sørensen (keyboards), and Morten Sjøberg (drums). Øystein Sørensen left in 1982, replaced by Vidar Johansen (keyboards). Johansen left in 1984, replaced by Bjørn Berg (keyboards). Berg left in 1985, replaced by Oyvind Hauge (keyboards). Rune Nordal left in 1986, replaced by Per Oyvind Solheim (vocals, guitars). The final lineup was Ingvar Nordal, Sørensen, Sjøberg, and Solheim.
The band's music blended new wave, synth-pop, and post-punk. They were one of the first Norwegian bands to find success in the US, with "Everytime I See You" reaching the top 40 in 1985. Their popularity in the US declined in the late 1980s, but they remained popular in Norway and Europe. They released six studio albums before disbanding in 1992.
