"Grease is a American musical film of 1978 directed by Randal Kleiser and produced by Paramount Pictures. It is adapted from the same-named musical of 1971 written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. The film features John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing, Jeff Conaway, Barry Pearl, Michael Tucci, Kelly Ward, Didi Conn, Dinah Manoff and Jamie Donnelly. The story speaks of the love between Danny Zuko, a member of the T-Birds, and Sandy Olsson, a girl from Australia, who meet and fall in love during their senior year of high school in 1960. The film was a huge commercial success, becoming the most profitable musical film of all time, with a budget of 6 million dollars and worldwide earnings of 385 million dollars."
