Jimmy Bo Horne is an American disco and R&B singer born on February 18, 1951 in Miami, Florida. He is best known for his hit "Dance Across the Floor", which reached number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978. Growing up in Miami, Horne began his musical career playing the trombone in the James Brown Band. He went on to record several singles for the T.K. Records label before signing with Atlantic Records in 1977. His first album for Atlantic, "Goin' Places", was released in 1977 and reached number 33 on the Billboard 200. His second album, "Jimmy Bo Horne", was released in 1978 and reached number 41 on the Billboard 200. He went on to release two more albums with Atlantic before leaving the label in 1982. Horne then signed with Jive Records and released two more albums before retiring from the music industry in 1987.
