BIOGRAPHY
Kenny Rogers is an American singer and musician born on August 21, 1938, in Houston, Texas. He started his musical career in the 1950s as a guitarist and singer in the groups The Bobby Doyle Three and The New Christy Minstrels. He later joined The First Edition before embarking on a solo career in the 1970s. He achieved international success with songs like "The Gambler," "Coward of the County," "Lady," "Islands in the Stream," and "We've Got Tonight." Rogers has sold over 100 million records worldwide and has been awarded numerous accolades, including three Grammy Awards, 18 American Music Awards, 11 People's Choice Awards, eight Academy of Country Music Awards, and six Country Music Association Awards. In 2013, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
