Nirvana was an American rock band formed in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1987. The group was founded by lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic. Nirvana climbed the ranks of success in the early 1990s with their first album, Bleach, and their second album, Nevermind, which became a global phenomenon. The band's third album, In Utero, also received critical and commercial success. Nirvana disbanded in 1994 following Cobain's death.
