Peter Allen, born Peter Richard Woolnough on February 10, 1944 and passed away on June 18, 1992, was an Australian singer-songwriter and artist. He is best known for his songs "I Still Call Australia Home", "Quiet Please, There's a Lady on Stage" (written for Judy Garland), "Don't Cry Out Loud", "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" (co-written with Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager and Christopher Cross), and "I Go to Rio". In addition to recording numerous albums, he also had a successful stage career, appearing in musicals such as The Boy from Oz and The Pirate Queen. Allen was the first husband of Liza Minnelli, their marriage lasting from 1967 to 1974.
