Philip Bailey is an American R&B, soul, funk, and gospel singer. He is best known for being the lead singer of American R&B band Earth, Wind & Fire. Bailey began his musical career in the 1960s as a gospel backup singer. In 1970, he joined Earth, Wind & Fire and played a crucial role in their commercial success. Bailey left the group in 1975 to pursue a solo career, but returned in 1983. He remained with the group until its dissolution in 2000. Bailey has released eight solo albums throughout his career, with the most recent, Love Will Find a Way, released in 2014.
