BIOGRAPHY
Philippe Lafontaine is a musical artist born on November 3, 1953 in Verviers, Belgium. During his childhood, he studied piano and flute. At the age of 18, he began his professional career as part of a rock group. He later played in several jazz and French chanson groups before launching his solo career in 1982. His compositions, which blend pop, rock, and French chanson, are immediately noticed and he meets with commercial success from the release of his first album. Over the years, he continues to charm the public with his poetic lyrics and catchy melodies. In 2000, he was honored with the title of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters. Today, Philippe Lafontaine is recognized as one of the greatest singer-songwriters of his generation.
