BIOGRAPHY
"S'Express was a British act specializing in acid house and club/dance music, formed in 1987 by Mark Moore and Pascal Gabriel. Moore was the lead singer and primary songwriter of the group, while Gabriel was responsible for the majority of the group's production work. Later, they were joined by Jochen Schmalbach, who played keyboards and percussions.
Their first single, 'Theme from S-Express', was released in 1988 and reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. The song is particularly known for its use of the Roland TB-303 bass synthesizer. The group's second single, 'Superfly Guy', also reached number one on the UK Singles Chart.
Their first album, Original Soundtrack, was released in 1989 and reached number two on the UK Albums Chart. It included the singles 'Theme from S-Express', 'Superfly Guy', 'Hey Music Lover' and 'Stupid Little Girl'.
Their second album, Intercourse, was released in 1992 and reached number 33 on the UK Albums Chart. It included the singles 'I Want You' and 'Mantra for a State of Mind'.
Their third and final album, Life, was released in 1994 and reached number 46 on the UK Albums Chart. It included the singles 'Find 'Em, Fool 'Em, Forget 'Em' and 'Theme from S-Express '96'.
The group disbanded in 1996, but Moore and Gabriel continued to work together on various projects. In 2006, the group reunited for a one-off performance at the Lovebox Festival in London."
