The Cranberries are an Irish rock band formed in 1989 in Limerick. The band consists of four members: Dolores O'Riordan (vocals, guitar), Noel Hogan (guitar), Mike Hogan (bass) and Fergal Lawler (drums).
The band achieved international success in the 1990s with the singles "Zombie" and "Linger", which reached the top spots of the charts in Ireland, the UK, the USA, and other countries. Their third album, To the Faithful Departed (1996), reached number one in Ireland and the Top 10 in the USA. Their fourth album, Bury the Hatchet (1999), was a commercial and critical success, reaching number one in Ireland and the Top 5 in the UK. The band's fifth album, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee (2001), received mixed reviews but still reached number one in Ireland and the Top 10 in the UK.
The band split in 2003, but reunited temporarily in 2009 for a world tour celebrating their 20th anniversary. They subsequently released their sixth studio album, Roses (2012), to critical acclaim and reaching number one in Ireland and the Top 5 in the UK. In 2017, the band released an album of covers, Something Else. In 2019, the band released a new studio album, In the End, to critical acclaim and reaching number one in Ireland and the Top 10 in the UK.
The band has sold over 40 million albums worldwide and has been nominated for Grammy Awards, Brit Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
