BIOGRAPHY
The Jackson 5, also known as The Jacksons, is an American R&B, pop, and soul group from Gary, Indiana. The group consisted of five brothers: Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael Jackson. They began performing and dancing in the clubs and bars of Gary in 1964 and signed with Motown Records in 1968. Their first single, "I Want You Back," was released in 1969 and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The second single, "ABC," also reached number one on the Hot 100. The third single, "The Love You Save," reached number one on the Hot 100 and the fourth single, "I'll Be There," reached number one on the Hot 100 and became the first single in history to reach the top five of the Hot 100. In 1971, the group released their first album, "Third Album," which reached number one on the Billboard 200. The group released several albums throughout the 1970s, including "Maybe Tomorrow," "Goin' Back to Indiana," and "Destiny." In 1984, the group disbanded and Michael Jackson went on to have a very successful solo career. In 2001, the group reunited for a world tour, "The Unity Tour." In 2009, Michael Jackson passed away at the age of 50.
