BIOGRAPHY
Yanni is a new-age pianist and composer born in Greece. His music is often associated with images of natural landscapes and historical sites. He has composed music inspired by the sites of Machu Picchu and Petra.
Yanni began his career playing rock and jazz in clubs in Greece. In 1977, he moved to the United States to study classical music at the University of Minnesota. After completing his studies, he began working as a studio musician and recording his own albums.
Yanni achieved commercial success with his album "Dare to Dream" in 1992. The album was certified platinum in the United States and reached the number one spot on the Billboard New Age chart. He continued to record and produce successful albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s.
Yanni toured worldwide in 2010 and 2011, and in 2012, he performed for the first time in China. He has also performed in music festivals in Greece, Mexico, and Australia.
Yanni is considered one of the most popular and influential new-age artists of his generation. His albums have sold over 25 million copies worldwide.
