BIOGRAPHY
Duran Duran is a British rock band originating from Birmingham. Formed in 1978, the band consists of Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Roger Taylor, Andy Taylor, and Simon Le Bon. Their music is marked by new wave, post-punk, and disco influences. Their first album, titled Duran Duran, was released in 1981. Their second effort, Rio, was released in 1982 and peaked at number two on the UK albums chart. In 1983, the band's third album, Seven and the Ragged Tiger, topped the UK albums chart. Duran Duran achieved both critical and commercial success with their subsequent albums, including Notorious (1986), Big Thing (1988), and Liberty (1990). After an eight-year hiatus, the group reunited in 2001 and released the album Pop Trash in 2000. In 2011, Duran Duran was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
