Foreigner

BIOGRAPHY

"Foreigner is a American rock band from New York, formed in 1976 by guitarist Mick Jones, formerly of the British band Spooky Tooth. After leaving the group in 1973, Jones moved to the United States where he met bassist and singer Lou Gramm. The two men decided to form a band, joined by guitarist Ian McDonald, keyboardist Al Greenwood, and drummer Dennis Elliott. The group signed with Atlantic Records in 1976 and released their self-titled debut album in 1977. The album was a commercial success, reaching fourth place on the Billboard 200, and produced two singles that charted in the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100: "Feels Like the First Time" and "Cold as Ice." The band's second album, "Double Vision," was released in 1978 and reached second place on the Billboard 200. The album was even more successful than the first, producing four singles that charted in the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, including the number one hit "Hot Blooded." The band's third album, "Head Games," was released in 1979 and reached fifth place on the Billboard 200. The band's fourth album, "4," was released in 1981 and reached second place on the Billboard 200. The band's fifth album, "Agent Provocateur," was released in 1984 and reached fifth place on the Billboard 200. The band's sixth album, "Inside Information," was released in 1987 and reached tenth place on the Billboard 200. The band's seventh album, "Unusual Heat," was released in 1991 and did not meet with the expected success. The band took a break in the 1990s before releasing their eighth album, "Mr. Moonlight," in 1995. The band's ninth album, "Can't Slow Down," was released in 2009 and was a commercial success."
