BIOGRAPHY

Limahl is a British new wave and synth-pop singer, born Christopher Hamill on February 19, 1958, in Wigan, Lancashire, England. Limahl began his music career in 1977 as the lead singer of the new wave band Kajagoogoo, with whom he recorded the self-titled album Kajagoogoo in 1983. The band's first single, "Too Shy," reached the top of the UK charts in February 1983. After Limahl's departure from the group in May 1983, he pursued a solo career. His single "The NeverEnding Story" was used as the theme song for the film of the same name and reached the top of the UK charts in August 1984. Limahl then released the album The NeverEnding Story in November 1984. In 1985, Limahl contributed to the soundtrack of the science fiction film Dune with the single "The Neverending Story (Theme from Dune)." The single reached number four on the UK charts in March 1985. In 1986, Limahl released the album Don't Suppose, followed by the album Love in the First Degree in 1988. In 1989, Limahl contributed to the soundtrack of the film La Boum 2 with the single "Too Much Trouble." In 1990, Limahl released the album Back to the Wall, followed by the album The Best of Limahl in 1991. In 1993, Limahl contributed to the soundtrack of the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade with the single "The NeverEnding Story (Theme from The Lost City of Z)." In 1994, Limahl released the album Testify, followed by the album The Very Best of Limahl in 1995. In 1997, Limahl contributed to the soundtrack of the film Titanic with the single "My Heart Will Go On (Love Theme from Titanic)." In 1998, Limahl released the album The NeverEnding Story: The Very Best of Limahl, followed by the album The Very Best of Limahl in 2000.
