Limahl is a British new wave and synth-pop singer, born Christopher Hamill on February 19, 1958, in Wigan, Lancashire, England. Limahl began his music career in 1977 as the lead singer of the new wave band Kajagoogoo, with whom he recorded the self-titled album Kajagoogoo in 1983. The band's first single, "Too Shy," reached the top of the UK charts in February 1983. After Limahl's departure from the group in May 1983, he pursued a solo career. His single "The NeverEnding Story" was used as the theme song for the film of the same name and reached the top of the UK charts in August 1984. Limahl then released the album The NeverEnding Story in November 1984. In 1985, Limahl contributed to the soundtrack of the science fiction film Dune with the single "The Neverending Story (Theme from Dune)."
