"Ready for the World is an American music group that experienced commercial success in the 1980s. The group was formed in 1983 in Flint, Michigan, by lead singer Melvin Riley and musicians Gordon Strozier, Gregory Williams, and Willie Hutch Jones. After signing with the renowned record label Motown, the group released its self-titled debut album in 1985. The album was a commercial success, reaching the fourth spot on the Billboard 200 and selling over two million copies. The single 'Oh Sheila' was a massive hit, topping the Billboard Hot 100. The group released two more albums in the 1980s, Long Time Coming (1987) and The Bad Boys of Flint (1988), before disbanding in 1990."
