Sir Mix-a-Lot is an American rapper and producer, born Anthony Ray on August 12, 1963 in Seattle, Washington. He is primarily known for his iconic track "Baby Got Back", which became a global hit upon its release in 1992. Thanks to this catchy and provocative song, Sir Mix-a-Lot won a Grammy Award in 1993 for Best Solo Rap Performance.
Considered a pioneer of West Coast rap, Sir Mix-a-Lot began his career in the 1980s with his first album "Swass" which was a great success. He is also the founder of the independent label Nastymix, which helped launch his music career. Although he is less present in the music scene today, Sir Mix-a-Lot's impact and influence in the rap genre remain undeniable.
