Taylor Dayne is an American singer, songwriter, and actress born on March 7, 1962, in Baldwin, New York. She is known for her dance hits of the 1980s and 1990s, such as "Tell It to My Heart" and "Love Will Lead You Back". Dayne began her musical career by signing with the label Arista in 1987. Her first single, "Tell It to My Heart", was released the same year and reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. She then released her self-titled debut album in 1988, which was certified gold in the US. Her second album, Can't Fight Fate, was released in 1989 and was certified platinum in the US. Despite albums and singles released in the 1990s and 2000s, Dayne did not regain the same commercial success as in the beginning of her career. In 2007, she participated in the fifth season of the American reality show Dancing with the Stars. In 2011, she was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame. Taylor Dayne currently resides in Los Angeles, California, with her husband and their two children.
