Viola Wills was an American music artist, born on June 11, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas. She began her musical career in San Francisco's jazz clubs in the 1960s. In 1970, she released her first self-titled album, "Viola Wills," under the Blue Thumb Records label. Subsequently, she recorded several albums for the Motown label, including the successful album "If You Could Read My Mind" in 1971. Wills also recorded albums for other record labels, such as Epic Records and A&M Records. She continued to perform concerts and record albums until her death on March 18, 2009, at the age of 64.
